Spardium is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible microorganisms in the following: Nosocomial & Community Acquired Pneumonia, Lower & Upper Respiratory Tract Infections, Â Â Â Acute Bacterial Exacerbation of Chronic Bronchitis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Â Â Â Gonococcal & Non-Gonococcal Urethritis, and Urinary Tract & Gynecological Infections

Each film coated, scored tablet of spardium contains 200mg Sparfloxacin
Direction
Sparfloxacin can be taken with or without food. The recommended daily dose of sparfloxacin in patients with normal renal function is 400mg on the first day as a loading dose. Thereafter, one 200mg tablet should be taken every 24 hours for a total of 5-10 days depending on the type of infection and the resolution of symptoms. The duration of therapy is usually 5 days for most infections; Urinary Tract Infection requires treatment for 3 days, whilst the treatment for non-gonococcal urethritis and pelvic inflammatory diseases is for 7 days. Typhoid fever may require treatment for up to 10 days. In non-complicated Gonococcal Urethritis, the dose is 200mg as a single dose.
